Established in 1927 by an Act of Congress, the US National Arboretum is a 446-acre preserve that contains the National Herb Garden and the National Bonsai Collection. In addition to allowing the public to tour the beautiful multi-hued foliage along 9.5 miles of winding roadways, the Arboretum also conduct research, provides education, and conserves and displays trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants that enhance the environment.
