Spread out over 328 acres, East Potomac Park is a refreshing refuge from the concrete beast that is downtown Washington D.C. The park offers a swath of leisure and sporting activities, including biking, fishing, picnic area, playground, swimming (public pool, 50-meter outdoor pool), and tennis courts, including nine outdoor hard courts and 10 outdoor clay courts. The two most notable features of the park are Hains Point, where visitors can lounge around and picnic and watch planes take off from the nearby airport, and the Jefferson Memorial, where visitors can pay homage to our nation's third president. East Potomac Park is situated near the Tidal Basin, another serene location in downtown Washington.
