Located in residential Georgetown, Dumbarton Oaks is a Federal-style house, purchased in 1920, that serves as a museum and houses a variety of exhibitions and artifacts devoted to Byzantine and Pre-Columbian woks of art. Surrounding the historical site are 10 acres of formal gardens. Designed by Beatrix Farrand, the gardens incorporate different styles of European landscaping and serve as one of the most tranquil spots in all of Washington.
