Located in trendy Georgetown, the Washington, D.C. branch of the Hard Rock Café chain has been a popular spot since its opening in 1989. The atmosphere can be fun, with the instruments of famous musicians and bands adorning the walls. The huge main bar is shaped like a Fender guitar and the stained glass windows honor such rock 'n' roll greats as Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis. As usual, patrons can walk around and inspect the rock `n' roll memorabilia and artifacts, or simply sit and enjoy a menu of hearty American fare. Beware: the prices here can be outrageous. The Hard Rock has a decent selection of beers and the staff is friendly. Kids are welcome. It can get crowded, but the Hard Rock would love to keep you entertained in the gift shop.
