One of the pioneering theaters of Washington's resident theater movement, Arena Stage entertains more than 250,000 audience members during a single September-June season. Founded in 1950, the theater has long been coveted by the most talented playwrights, actors, designers, directors, and other theater personalities in the business. Arena Stage employs nearly 200 professionals who help present up to 24 performances per week in its two theaters - the Fichandler Stage and the Kreeger.
